My family is from India, so when we visit, we almost always make a stop in Dubai first. The airport alone is extravagant, but overall, Dubai is a beautiful place. I haven't spent a lot of time there, but it captures my attention every time we visit. I went last summer with my parents, and we could've spent hours walking around and taking in the sights if we didn't have another flight. Nighttime is the best time to go so you can take in all the lights which add another level of excitement! It's also a huge city, so I definitely get in all my steps by the end.

Just to say again how lovely your blog looks, Jency... and maybe with your India connection, you will want to do an India project for this class, especially if there is a place in India you have visited that you want to know more about, etc. etc. So when you do the topic brainstorming for Week 2, feel free to look at the project ideas for the Indian Epics class too; you might find some topics there that would be of interest, and any kind of India project is also very welcome in this class! :-)
ReplyDeleteDubai has always been on my "Must Go" list, which is exactly what it sounds like! It always has seemed like such an amazing place, this rich, technologically advanced city full of shiny things set against a desert backdrop. Actually, now that I think about it, Dubai is really a classier Las Vegas! I can't wait to read your stories this semester!
